The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

To begin sacramental preparation for marriage please contact the Parish Office hosting the class at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date. All engaged couples who plan to receive the sacrament of Matrimony in the coming months are required by the Diocese of Savannah to attend an approved Marriage Preparation Retreat, where you will receive presentations by specially selected clergy and married couples. The presentations are intended to give your marriage a head-start on matters of scripture-based spirituality, communication, finances, commitment and family planning. Reservations should be made as early as possible to facilitate planning for space, meals, and supplies. If you plan on attending St. Teresa's Marriage Prep class please register below or call the parish office at 706-863-4956.
The Augusta Deanery hosts four Marriage Preparation sessions during the year.
